We’re pleased to announce the launch of our new impeller and throatbush matched set for WRT® configured wet ends, the Extended Life (EL) Upgrade. The EL upgrade extends wear life and reduces operating costs when retrofitted onto Warman® WRT configured pumps. It does this by increasing the wear life as an assembly rather than as individual parts in a system.
The EL design applies similar design principles used in 7D Safer Slurry Pumps. As an engineered aftermarket solution it can be installed onto existing pumps, allowing the end user to reap the benefits without the cost and complexity of a complete pump overhaul.
Our engineering team identified the key contributors to wear on WRT configured wet ends, including:
- Nose-gap solids ingress
- Tip-vortex scouring
- Lack of swirl control across the real operating band
We made the following changes to address these issues:
- Impeller – severe‑duty twisted‑vane hydraulic designed to reduce wear
- Extended shrouds – suppress expelling-vane tip vortices improving volute liner, throat bush and impeller life
- Solids diverter throatbush to liner – reduces nose-gap solids ingress and dam-area ratholes
- Straight, vortex-breaking vanes – stabilises inlet flow
