7D Team Enhances Flygt® Pumps
Overview
A Flygt® hire pump from an underground WA gold mine was returned in less than 4 weeks as it had seized due to being clogged with mud and shotcrete.
The suction cover and diffuser were 7D Team’s Slurrypoly™ lined 316SS. The impeller was 7D’s Slurrychrome™.
The diffuser disc and oil housing were competitor aftermarket parts.
Before strip down
Extent of shotcrete blockage evident in photos below. With generic polyurethane the unit would have failed well before the blockage was so severe, via diffuser and suction cover being destroyed.

The condition of competitors generic polyurethane component (Oil Housing) from the same pump build. It was destroyed and needed replacement, as did the competitor\’s worn diffuser disc.
